Events outside of shows

Thespies:

The Thespys is our theatre department's annual banquet, an award show style celebration of everything our troupe has accomplished over the year. In the fall, the troupe votes on a theme and then the Vice President is in charge of organizing decorations, games, and the ceremony itself. It is a costume party as well, and everyone dresses according to the theme. In the past, themes have included circus, Marvel vs. DC, and Black and White films. The Thespies are also the ITS Induction ceremony. If a student meets the requirements for induction by Thespies they will be inducted. Other Thespian point awards are given along with student voted acting and tech awards in Tony Awards style ( i.e. Best Lead Actress and Best Supporting Actor). The Thespies are a huge theatre celebration and we encourage everyone to get involved in some capacity. We feature selections from each of our productions from the past year and also showcase talent of all types. You can become involved in the process either by joining the Thespies Decorating Committee or auditioning to be in the Thespies Opening Number. Check back here and the blog year round for more information on voting, performances, rehearsals, and other ways to be involved.

Thescon:

Georgia Thescon is a statewide Thespian Conference that our troupe attends each year. It's three days of workshops, shows, performance opportunities, and much more. Only Inducted members are allowed to attend. Our troupe does as much as we can to be involved at Thescon whether that be through IE's, Freestyle competition, or Improv.

One-Act Competition:

Douglas County Theatre competes in the Region 3 6AAAAAA One-Act Competition. One-Act is a GHSA regulated competition with the State Competition  in November.
